The Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre (CISC) was established to drive an all hazards regime of critical infrastructure protection enabled by a stronger focus on cyber security.

 

CISC delivers a best practice, industry-focused, active and engaged regulatory and partnership function that works with industry to ensure Australia's critical infrastructure protection.

 

AusCheck Branch, within the CISC, supports the Centre's mission to create a safer Australia by protecting critical infrastructure from malicious-insider threats such as cyber-attacks, terrorism and organised crime. AusCheck provides Trusted Insider Checks, commonly referred to as background checking services for security-sensitive critical infrastructure sectors in Australia.

 

AusCheck ensures the identity of people and coordinates their criminal and national security background checks, to determine their eligibility for unsupervised access to secure areas of infrastructure and supply chains in the aviation and maritime, Security Sensitive Biological Agents (SSBAs, under the National Health Scheme), Major National Events (MNE) and Critical Infrastructure sectors.

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Lead, maintain and communicate uplift / continuous improvement projects across the branch Communications / Digital Strategy.
  • Manage the communication plan by the use of and maintain accurate data and records to undertake performance reviews and brief the senior executives on key communication issues relating to the Issuing Body Transition and/or Service Engagement sections.
  • Promote the use of best practice communication tactics with stakeholders to maximize the Branch's brand, purpose and mission while managing reputational risk management including being alert to continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Provide expert advice, support and guidance on communication strategies to stakeholders, including communication identification, assessment and assistance in the preparation, implementation and review of Branch's Communication Plans.
  • Provide leadership and coordinate the activities of the teams to deliver enhanced customer and business outcomes.

 

Additional information

 

The following are highly desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience of the tools and processes used for media production.
  • Knowledge of or ability quickly master Departmental social media guidelines and style guide.
  • Knowledge operating within the Australian Government branding guidelines and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and relevant sections of the Copyright Act 1969 and Privacy Act 1988.
  • Qualifications, and/or demonstrated equivalent experience, in a relevant field is desirable but not mandatory.

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
