Major Sourcing and Acquisitions (MSA) Section is responsible for end-to-end delivery of a major sourcing program, exceeding a billion dollars over the next 3-5 years, that is endeavouring to refresh several of the Departments strategic managed technology services contracts. MSA Section currently comprises of multi-disciplinary project delivery teams, managing the delivery of one or more major sourcing, transition and disengagement activities for Managed Network, Future Workplace and Future Compute managed service capabilities.
The program of work in MSA Section is a critical enabler to the Departments core ICT operational and technology capability and resultant contract outcomes will underpin the Department's network, corporate end-user services and main processing compute services for the next decade.

Duties and responsibilities
- Providing support and management to a multi-disciplined project teams, coordinate project activities across multiple streams including; participation in strategic approach to market and procurement activities, transition and disengagement activities
- Coordinating and supporting the management of scope, schedule, risk, budget and resources, preparation of Executive Minutes and briefings, submissions, reports and returns relating to the project progress and issues in accordance with organisational requirements
- Apply technical, operational, professional and administrative activities, procedures, practices and project management methodologies to support procurement, transition and disengagement activities
- Identify risks and opportunities and take account of these in planning, decision making and priority setting. Analyse and interpret project performance against agreed plans and develop and evaluate strategies to achieve project outcomes
- Coordinate program governance and prepare correspondence, briefs and reports as required including submissions and documents for higher delegate and committee consideration.

- Support the Director in delivering high quality outcomes and managing risk in a fast-paced and complex environment
- Contribute to program design and delivery, including solving complex problems and developing solutions, approach to market, assessment of responses, and preparation of reports and recommendations and transition and disengagement planning
- Support complex procurement, transition and disengagement outcomes including project management methodologies and practices; complex problem solving, risks, actions, issues, project management planning, budget forecasting and scheduling
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including and not limited to, internal, business, and technical stakeholders, external service providers and other Commonwealth agencies.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
