National Operations | Customs Compliance Enforce & Target | N/A | People Smuggling Intelligence

People Smuggling Intelligence (PSI) is the Australian Government's assessment lead on the threat of maritime people smuggling to Australia.

PSI acts as an all-source intelligence fusion cell, combining reporting from across the National Intelligence Community (NIC) to understand and assess push/pull factors influencing potential irregular immigrants (PIIs) to join irregular maritime ventures, PIIs' perception of Australia's border policies, and the intent and capability of people smugglers. PSI's assessments inform critical operational and policy decision making by the Joint Agency Task Force Operation Sovereign Borders (JATF OSB) and senior decision makers.
