National Operations | Operational Coordination & Planning | Border Systems & Program Mgt | Multiple Sections
The Border Systems and Program Management Branch (BSPM) in the Australian Border Force (ABF) guides and supports the management, development and enhancement of operational capability to meet the ABF's needs by representing and advocating for the ABF in capability development, program design and implementation, and technology management.
The branch is responsible for approximately 70 ICT-based ABF business(operational) systems and has oversight and delivery of the ABF's Cargo and Mail Capability, Traveller Capability and Stand-Alone Projects delivery programs.
BSPM consists of six sections that collectively contribute to the overall success of BSPM's mission to enhance ABF operational systems and drive efficient technology management across its functions.

Duties and responsibilities
A BSPM APS 6 Supervisor may (depending on their specific role)
- Work across the ABF and Department to ensure the seamless delivery of projects and programs to support and inform decision makers and ensure effective project and program reporting, including benefits, risk and issue management
- Liaise with ABF frontline end users, primarily with Traveller and Maritime, International Mail, Cargo (Air and Maritime) and other stakeholders across strategic policy, capability leads and delivery partners to ensure ABF capabilities meet current and emerging operational needs and align with strategic objectives
- Manage and responds to complex business enquires, coordinate and review system enhancements, defects and improvements including scheduled and unscheduled systems outages
- Provide ongoing support and management of traveller, cargo and reporting operational systems for ABF elements of IT systems by conducting User Acceptance Testing, Acceptance into Service and Business Change Approvals Management
- Some positions will require to undertake powers and authorisations related to operational delegations.
Additional information
- Experience in project/program management and/or program governance (required for some roles)
- Strong understanding of project/program management techniques, methodologies and deliverables. (desirable)
- Operational use and management of critical business systems (desirable)
- Understanding of SOPs & PIs (desirable).

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
