GM Technology & Major Cap Group | ICT Division | Technology Operations & Support | Classified Systems Delivery Section (CSD)

 

The Classified Systems Delivery Section (CSD) is responsible for the delivery and support of ICT systems at the Secret classification, for use by the Department of Home Affairs and a range of external stakeholders. These include numerous Australian Government Departments, New Zealand Government Departments, and other Commonwealth agencies.

 

CSD is a multidisciplinary team comprised of resources across numerous ICT disciplines, including server, network, compute, storage, cryptographic, deployable, and desktop solutions. It also operates the Australian Secret Network Service Desk, network and close support services and maintains the Department's Communications Security (COMSEC) organisation.

 

CSD supports a range of critical government capabilities, including counter terrorism initiatives, law enforcement activities, Home Affairs maritime platforms, and national crisis response, such as the continuation of Executive Government during a national emergency or disaster.

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage the APS6 ACAM staff within the Classified Systems Delivery Section COMSEC team.
  • Ensure Home Affairs COMSEC accounts are operating in accordance with the ACSI suite of publications, the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM).
  • Operate and maintain COMSEC systems including Australian Key Management Infrastructure (AKMI) and Communications Security Accounting Reporting and Distribution Systems (CARDS).
  • Manage annual inventory checks of HACE, keymat and COMSEC publications/aids, and the conduct of mandatory compliance checks of Accountable Communications Material (ACM) issued to COMSEC Local Elements (LE's)/sub-accounts.
  • Provide COMSEC support to Secret and Top-Secret ICT within the Department and supported agencies.

  • Qualified or able to achieve qualification to use AKMI

  • Sectera Viper
  • Vinson Family of Equipment
  • Background/experience in physical, personnel, transmission, cryptographic and emission security.
  • Experience in Design, Build and Management of Security Zones.

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
     

In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
