Our ideal candidate
-
7+ years' experience managing and delivering complex and technical projects preferably within the data science space will be highly recommended
-
5+ years' experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP will be highly recommended

At least five years' experience leading project delivery, ideally within a data, IT, or analytics domain will be highly recommended

Strong understanding of data science principles and methodologies

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Duties and responsibilities
-
Project Management: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Develop and maintain project plans, roadmaps, and sprint backlogs. Track project progress and ensure timely completion within budget constraints. Identify and mitigate risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies

Agile Delivery: Implement and promote agile methodologies within the team. Collaborate with the AI Product Manager to set delivery targets and lead project sprints. Ensure that projects are delivered within agreed scope, budget, and timeframes

People Management: Manage and mentor a team of data scientists. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement and professional growth

Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders across the organization to understand their challenges and data landscape. Identify project opportunities and ensure technical delivery aligns with business outcomes

Documentation and Communication: Develop and maintain project and product documentation. Prepare and deliver communications, briefings, and policy material as needed.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
