About our team
GM Technology & Major Cap Group | Cyber Risk Services | Cyber Risk Services | Identity Management & Access Control
The Identity Management & Access Control section provides a centrally controlled and distributed enterprise-wide identity and access management capability that enhances the security of the departmental ICT environment.
The section also ensures that the right staff have access to the right information at the right time to make the right decisions, that access to all departmental ICT resources is appropriately controlled, and individual users can be held accountable for all actions they undertake within the enterprise ICT environment.
The section supports and manages the access of over 30,000 internal accounts (Departmental staff, other government agencies, ministerial staff, external service providers) and 18 million external clients.

Our ideal candidate
- At least 3 years' experience designing IAM solutions
- At least 2 years' experience in a leadership role within the system design area with project management methodologies
- At least 2 years' experience with Single Sign On (SSO) technologies
- Experience with software development fundamentals, business domain data models and business processes
- Thorough understanding of Federated SSO technologies.
Duties and responsibilities
- Management and co-ordination of design resources working with Project and Delivery Manager
- Providing estimates for the design effort for changes to existing applications and new applications
- Contributing to quality assurance practices and systems and work with IMAC Director and Project/Business Delivery Manager to prioritise and schedule work packages submitted to IMAC
- Implementation of the Solution architecture standards (including design, development & unit testing standards)
- Providing inputs, leading discussions and engagements with Enterprise and Security Architecture and solution architects to articulate and represent IMAC technical solutions into delivering broader departmental goals.
Additional information
- Relevant certificates such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information (CISSP) would be an advantage
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships, credibility and personal networks between the technology development function and business units
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation/Understanding of ITIL practices
- The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification or equivalent architecture framework
- Thorough Knowledge and experience with Microsoft and IBM IAM product suite.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
