Immigration Programs Division manages the delivery of Australia's temporary and permanent migration programs, in Australia and overseas. The division offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment across a global footprint, with a unique blend of both program management and program delivery functions. Duties and responsibilities
Specific Duties / Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of high quality, responsive and efficient temporary visa service delivery outcomes
- Support the Regional Director VIC/TAS in providing corporate, property and staff support for the Hobart office. This includes a high level of pastoral care on behalf of other branches and divisions
- Maintain productive working relationships through engagement with,key strategic partners (Tasmanian government in particular)
- Lead staff during change and encourage a positive and productive team culture
- Providing strategic advice on a range of issues to senior executives as required
- Forward planning and managing corporate and governance responsibilities for the Section and Branch
- Promoting and managing relationships with internal and external clients, stakeholders and service providers
- Drive business improvements, staff capability and quality management processes to improve the efficiency, quality, consistency and integrity of decision making
- Identify, manage and evaluate risk in all decision making and delivery of outcomes
- Work with a high level of autonomy under broad direction with a concurrent need to resolve issues and deliver quality outcomes
- Contribute to, and effectively implement policy, procedural and technological change.
Additional information
As a Program Delivery Manager, this position is responsible for the delivery of large Temporary visa programs and ensuring that the teams within Temporary Visas Tasmania successfully deliver a number of growing and high tempo visa programs. This role is responsible for a large team, delivering program and service delivery outcomes, including monitoring workloads and quality control processes to sustain outputs, high quality decision making, drive productivity, and deliver continuous process improvement.
The Tasmanian State Manager is a key leadership role for the Immigration Programs Division, and the Department of Home Affairs. The State Manager is expected to contribute significantly to corporate efforts in Hobart, including property, people management, pastoral care on behalf of sections, attending corporate events and promoting broader department activities.
The Tasmania State Manager is a point of contact for the Regional Director VIC/TAS and reports through to the RD on strategic external stakeholder matters in Tasmania.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
