Cyber & Infrastructure Security | Cyber & Infra Security Centre | Critical Infra Reg Ops & Analysis | CISG PMO

 

The CISG PMO leads and supports the best practice project and program management in CISG. The PMO delivers following services:

  • Plays a pivotal role in guiding and supporting business units manage the investment process, strategic alignment, prioritisation and selection, progress tracking and monitoring for all ICT projects
  • Establish a centre of technical and program expertise to provide mentorship, guidance and leadership to project teams within the CISG
  • Effective oversight and monitoring of funding allocated (actual and forecast) for all projects
  • Establish and conduct high level analysis of Branch and CISG projects and sub-programs to identify cross-project linkages, dependencies, shared risks and issues, and insights to minimise any disruptions
  • Implement first level of assurance in projects leading to minimal risks and issues in their delivery
  • Collaboration with project teams to transparently define and monitor business benefits and support their realisation after implementing the changes in existing systems and after delivering the new capabilities.

Our ideal candidate

 

  • Strong understanding of project, sub-program and program management principles and frameworks
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Portfolio, Program and/or Project Management qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Provide Project, Program and Portfolio Management (P3M) services, managing complex ICT projects, sub-programs and business processes within a program of work in accordance with the Department's Program Management Framework and methodologies
  • Work with Senior Responsible Owners, Delivery Leads, Business Leads and program manager to assist in the development of strategies for the effective delivery of all initiatives
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation to a high standard as specified by the Department's Portfolio Management Framework within identified timeframes
  • Undertake work activities with an awareness of their possible impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for the Group and the Department
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Director, CISG PMO

 

Additional information

 

  • Develop and manage key relationships with representatives from Capability Value Realisation Centre (CVRC) in Major Capability Division (MCD), ICT Division, Finance Division, project and program areas, business areas, service providers and internal and external stakeholders, promoting the CISG's business objectives
  • Manage project risks and issues and escalate as appropriate
  • Contribute towards a positive team ethos within the immediate workgroup through active participation and communication
  • Provide oversight and mentoring to Assurance Specialists, PMO Support Officers and the Change Analysts
  • Develop and maintain strong effective working relationships with key management personnel and internal client base.

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

​The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.

 
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
