Within the Civil Maritime Capability Division (CMCD), the Civil Maritime Acquisition Branch (CMAB) is responsible for the development, acquisition and transition into service of capabilities required to deliver patrol, response and surveillance effects in support of Civil Maritime operations.
The Air and Marine Procurement Section (AMP) is responsible for delivering the Civil Maritime Capability Procurement Program and undertaking complex high risk high value procurement activities from planning through to contract execution, across a range of aerial surveillance and response, and maritime vessel capabilities.

The APS6 Procurement Officer assists with complex, high risk and high value procurement activities through the development of documentation, stakeholder engagement and providing advice and expertise.
The position forms part of a fast paced, dynamic team that requires engaging with stakeholders to understand operational requirements and articulate these requirements into the procurement documentation.

The key duties of the position include:
- Develop and manage procurement plans, evaluation plans and supporting documents for simple contracts and/or contribute to plans for all contracts
- Prepare formal correspondence and meet with stakeholders to resolve procurement issues
- Develop and maintain strong and cooperative working relationships with business areas and stakeholders
- Communicate with stakeholders impartially and professionally, providing accurate information, flexible advice and problem solving for complex procurement matters
- Supervise and manage staff to deliver objectives and services.
- dentify, assess and develop strategies to manage potential risks during procurement.
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting or equivalent on commencement or within 12 months of commencement.
Qualifications and/or experience in the following disciplines are also highly sought after: risk management, audit, commercial law, contract management, project management, quality assurance and financial management.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
