Strategy & Capability | ABF Workforce | ABF College | Marine, Maritime and Littoral Faculty

 

Marine, Maritime and Littoral Faculty (MMLF) is accountable to the Assistant Commissioner ABF Workforce for the conduct of efficient and effective curriculum development, training and deliverable outcomes in the national and international maritime domains.

 

MMLF is working with DAFT in delivering a number of capacity building programs in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) under the Indian Ocean Maritime Security Project (IOMSP). The team's responsibility is to develop the programs and deliver to a specified time frame to enhance Maritime Domain Awareness and promote engagement in the IOR.

Our ideal candidate

 

APS4 Border Force Leading Officers will work under general direction to contribute to the implementation, development and continuous improvement of Indian Ocean Maritime Security Project (IOMSP). They will assist with the service delivery of all programs under the IOMSP, including assisting with reporting and communications activities. Undertaking various administrative tasks, including the management of one or multiple mailboxes, and conducting record keeping in line with departmental processes.
 

The ABF is looking for people who enjoy working in a rapidly evolving and forward-thinking environment. Our ideal candidate is an agile operator, capable of supporting the delivery teams in an international environment to help the ABF deliver on its responsibility in international program delivery. The successful candidates will be self-driven and seek to directly influence the key outcomes of the international stakeholder network.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Manage relevant mailboxes and disseminate communications to relevant team members
  • Assist with prioritising and handling moderately complex, day-to-day situations/issues that arise.
  • Assist with coordinating and implementing program initiatives
  • Assist with moderately complex analysis and research across all relevant
  • Information sources to meet reporting requirements, including the drafting of reports
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships through day-to-day liaison with stakeholders
  • Build trust and close relationships with the network through open communication through understanding the roles, responsibilities and obligations of stakeholders within the program
  • Contribute to the drafting of program schedules and communications.

 

Additional information

 

The APS4 Program Support Officer will assist APS6 Logistics and Coordination Officers in advancing the work of the Australian Border Force (ABF) across the breadth of deliverable programs and related operational responsibilities, engagement and cooperation associated with the Indian Ocean Maritime Security Project and the Marine Resource Initiative.

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
     

In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
