Our Branch manages the planning, procurement, leasing and management of commercial and residential accommodation in Australia and overseas. This includes (but is not limited to) capital works, staff accommodation, airport and seaport leasing, operational properties, facilities management, spatial management, and contract management arrangements.

Duties and responsibilities


  • You will manage the delivery of multiple projects within the annual capital works programs, according to the Department's project management framework, on time and within budget.
  • You will manage the procurement and contracting of relevant goods and services, including project management, building design, building certification, cost planning, head works contractors, furniture and equipment.
  • Track the relocation budget and ensure the correct charge of relocations to the Department.
  • Develop and maintain a quality assurance program for Departmental Occupancy Data.
  • Assist with phases of relevant project works, scope development, and project delivery and close out.
  • Drive and maintain a business continuity program, to strengthen the Department’s Business Continuity Management preparedness.


Additional information


  • Previous experience in Property Management, Leasing, Spatial Management, Project Management or Contract Management would be well regarded but not necessary. You'll build your skills in time.
  • A flexible work environment is offered however you will need to discuss what this looks like with your individual manager
  • Depending on the role, you may be required to undertake travel at times.
  • You'll be part of a National Team that reports to a Director in Canberra or Brisbane.

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
