GM Technology & Major Cap Group | ICT Division | Corporate & Case Systems | HR & Finance Systems
The HR & Finance Systems Section, within the Corporate & Case Systems Branch, is responsible for the provision of development and sustainment support for the department's SAP landscape including the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, SAP Portal (easySAP), Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC), SAP Authorisations and Access management, Financial Delegations, Payroll, Financial Management and General Ledger, Public Sector Collection & Disbursement (PSCD) utilised for Border Receipting and Revenue Receipting, Travel Management, Asset Management, Procurement, Timesheeting and Invoicing, SAP Business Warehouse (BW) and SAP Process Orchestration (PO) as well as supporting a number of peripheral HR and finance capability systems.
The Section undertakes both project and business as usual sustainment services that include enhancements, system upgrades and legislative change requirements. SAP is a mission critical system and plays an integral role is maintaining the integrity of Australia's borders and the safety of both staff and citizens.

Our ideal candidate
We are seeking candidates with strong expertise in a variety of disciplines to fill multiple EL1 Technical Specialist and leadership roles, who aspire to contribute to an amazing team environment and successful delivery of technology to achieve business outcomes. You will have:
- Demonstrated ability to make significant contributions to the team and section, working collaboratively either within the context of leadership or specialist technical area, to provide high quality outcomes against key priorities of the section and branch, in coordination with key stakeholders from various business areas
- Strong relationship skills and the ability to represent the section, branch and department best interests in identifying, developing and implementing solutions to support the critical work of the department, including strong communication skills and demonstrated experience managing and influencing diverse stakeholders
- Well-developed interpersonal and team skills, as well as the ability to contribute to the development of SAP support within the agency, building and maintaining strong relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, manage work priorities, and promote and encourage a positive team culture of collaboration, innovation, information sharing, flexibility and adaptability
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic solutions to address future departmental and stakeholder needs when developing new systems, procedures, policies, practices and methodologies.
Duties and responsibilities
Undertake specialist technical work in one of the specified areas, provide technical expertise in this area including coaching, upskilling and contributing to strategic planning in activities related to this specialist technical area. Note that some of the technical roles also include team and technical leadership components.
Specialist Technical Roles:
- SAP Finance Functional Analyst - requiring expertise in multiple SAP Finance Modules
- SAP Finance Systems Analyst - requiring expertise in multiple SAP Finance Modules
- SAP Business Warehouse Technical Lead - requiring expertise in SAP Business Warehouse Module
- SAP Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Technical Team Lead - requiring expertise in SAP Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Module
- SuccessFactors Technical Support Specialist - requiring expertise in SuccessFactors modules, including Onboarding, Recruitment Management, and Learning Management.
Leadership Role:
- ERP Production Manager - Provide accountable leadership and undertake management of multiple technical teams, including APS, contractors, and services providers. This includes managing and delivering programs of ICT work, supporting production systems, workforce planning, building a positive culture and investing in staff capability to ensure a supportive and high performing environment.
Both technical and leadership roles will be expected to:
- Build and maintain long term strategic and collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes for the department
- Provide timely and accurate advice both verbally and in writing, responding to tasking and enquiries and managing due dates
- Actively foster diversity, flexibility, staff well-being, collaboration, and continuous learning as a foundation for success
- Build and maintain long term strategic and collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes for the department
- Delivery, and support of IT capability using modern methodologies such as Scaled Agile Framework(R) (SAFe(R).
Additional information
The following is also considered highly beneficial:
- Industry-recognised qualifications in the specified areas and/or in-depth professional experience over a significant period of time, particularly working within a relevant context in an operational area within a Government setting.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
