About our team

National Operations | Special Investigations | Vape and Tobacco Operations & Coordination (VTOC)

The Vape and Tobacco Operations and Coordination (VTOC) is a new section established to provide the strategic, operational and tactical oversight of cross jurisdictional health, whole of government and intra-agency coordination of compliance activities that combat illicit tobacco.  It will work alongside the ABF Illicit Tobacco Taskforce (ITTF) which is focussed specifically on the intersection of illicit tobacco with serious organised crime.

The VTOC is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on the multi-jurisdictional end-to-end illicit tobacco compliance model.  It will engage with key internal, external and offshore stakeholders to decrease domestic non-compliance. The VTOC will also coordinate, monitor and report on ABF border enforcement controls that counter the availability of illicit vapes and vaping products.

Because of the multi-disciplinary nature of the work, VTOC will provide training to the successful candidate to upskill in relevant areas, including monitoring, evaluation, business intelligence, and writing.
