The Cyber Risk Services Branch is responsible for leading and shaping cyber resilience in all aspects of Home Affairs and ABF business design and operations. Its mission is to protect our information and operations and securely enable business change. The branch focuses on five key strategic functions to manage cyber security risk:

 

  • The identify function develops an organisational understanding to manage cyber security risks to systems, assets, data and capabilities
  • The protect function develops and implements the appropriate safeguards to ensure the delivery of critical services
  • The detect function develops and implements the appropriate activities to identify the occurrence of a cyber-security event
  • The respond and recover function develops and implements the appropriate activities to take action regarding a detected cyber security event, and provide resilience and to coordinate the restoration of any capabilities or services that were impaired due to a cyber-security event
  • They govern and assure function directs, monitors and reports on the security posture of the Department.

Our ideal candidate

 

The APS6 Service Deliver Officer position within the Cyber Engagement and Delivery Section, is a full-time ongoing role based in Canberra.

 

They will manage stakeholder relationships, Cyber project deliverable timelines and work in the delivery of key bodies of work and strategies, which support the Branch.

 

The role requires a very broad range of skills including, but not limited to, highly developed communications skills, written and verbal, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, financial management and human resource management skills and have a good understanding of what Cyber Security entails within Government departments.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Manage the delivery and quality assurance of communication products to the Department and other Government Agencies
  • Produce and facilitate the production of collaborative strategic and service delivery products
  • Prioritise requests for products and services offered by Cyber Delivery Management Office from various stakeholders in consultation with the Director of Cyber Engagement and Delivery
  • Provide representation at key stakeholder engagement activities
  • Effectively manage competing priorities and strategic directions when achieving team planning and service delivery outcomes in line with agency goals and objectives
  • Manage dissemination of communications and reports through a range of platforms and to a range of audiences.

 

Additional information

 

The following are highly desirable for the role:
 

  • Tertiary and/or industry qualifications in any of the following domains Communications, Marketing, Project Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, Cyber Security or ICT.
  • Ability to quickly gain knowledge relating to a range of technologies.

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
     

In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
