The Enterprise Business Solutions (EBS) Section supports the automation of business process management (BPM) for the Department of Home Affairs via the delivery of ICT business solutions on enterprise-wide strategic platforms. These strategic Pega Platforms for Home Affairs, facilitate the streamlining and automation of repeatable business activities, allowing staff to re allocate their time to perform more valuable tasks.
The Section achieves its goals and deliver on its objectives through:
- The establishment and ongoing management of strategic enterprise-wide platforms for the Department
- The delivery of enterprise capability (applications) to support strategic business solutions along with the provision of technical support for the applications and platforms
- The promotion of enterprise-wide quality engineering through Pega Best Practice design guidance and Pega Design and Development reviews via the Pega Quality & Enablement Centre of Excellence
- The development of internal capability and provision of training and enablement for the Pega community across the Department - building a network of skilled APS Pega resources internally and supporting overall capability across government.

The EBS BAU/ Project Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for the quality of the end-to-end product and overall delivery process for the Pega Platforms and applications.
They will work closely with the Business System Owners, Technical Stakeholders across ICTD Product Owner, EBS Technical Program Delivery Manager and EBS Scrum Master to prioritise delivery requirements and mitigate risks throughout the delivery life cycle.
This role will manage the deployment and maintenance of the Pega Platforms infrastructure and web technology and applications, to diagnose and resolve technical problems to a high standard of service and contribute to following best practice processes of incident reporting, change management, change requests, infrastructure, risk review and quality assurance improvement enterprise wide.
This role also plans, implements, controls and reviews Pega platforms service provision to meet client business requirements, including implementation and monitoring of service level agreements (SLA's) and the ongoing management of operational facilities to provide the agreed levels of service for both contract-based services and internal client arrangements across all domain's enterprise wide.
On-call work will be required for this role in addition to Business hours coverage.
You will:
- Work with Home Affairs business areas to understand requirements and develop a work program that takes into account regular maintenance, minor systems enhancements, and review and advice on new demand
- Manage a team of technical staff to deliver a successful maintenance and minor enhancement program that achieves the outcome of improved support and operational efficiencies
- Develop delivery schedules based on capacity and capability of the section and other delivery teams involved in the release lifecycle
- Coordinate the development of detailed system designs and strategies for program coding, integration and implementation of Home Affairs business needs
- Ensure that Home Affairs ICT standards in the design and implementation of systems are followed
- Coordinate end-to-end release cycles in consultation with business areas, testing and configuration functions and external providers to ensure successful system deployments
- Manage service levels and ensure suppliers fulfil their contracted SLA requirements and scrum teams support the agreed targets
- Effectively forward schedule plan with standard changes and project rollouts incorporated
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies, to obtain key deliverables
- In collaboration with the EBS Technical Program Delivery Manager and Technical Leads, manage and report on any risk to delivery of those capabilities to agreed time and quality targets
- Prepare and maintain BAU/Project delivery plans
- Create and enable support and reinforcement mechanisms to ensure changes are embedded, whilst seeking new strategies/approaches to achieve outcomes
- Provide expert advice and education to stakeholders on change release management / methodology processes, procedures and best practice
- Coach and mentor key internal stakeholders in Change Management best practice to support improved outcomes, including engaging senior leaders
- EBS Platform and Section financial management support.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
