About the roles
The ICT Temporary Employment Register is open to candidates to submit an expression of interest for employment with the Department’s ICT Division. The Register enables us to access appropriately skilled and experienced individuals at short notice for non-ongoing or temporary positions.

 

The ICT Division, is comprised of nine branches, which has touch points with every other area within the Department, running and sustaining over 400 business systems. 

 

Our work is diverse, fast paced and challenging, offering candidates opportunities to work with a diverse range of technical systems and tools. Whilst working in the Department you will be exposed to cutting edge technology, as well as have development opportunities and access to resources that will help further progress your career.

  • Application Developer / Programmer; 
  • Business / Systems Analyst; 
  • Change Manager / Coordinator; 
  • Cloud Engineer;

  • Database Administrator; 
  • DevOps Specialist; 
  • ICT Architect; 
  • ICT Configuration Manager;

Non-ongoing (temporary) opportunities may be offered on a full-time, part-time or casual basis depending on business need and requirements. We offer a flexible and supportive work environment, including flexible working arrangements. 
 
Non-ongoing opportunities will be offered for up to 18 months.

Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment

To be eligible to work with the Department of Home Affairs you must:

  • Be an Australian Citizen
  • Fulfil the Department’s minimum requirements by satisfactorily answering all screening questions during the application process
  • Obtain and maintain the required AGSVA clearance
  • Obtain and maintain a current Employment Suitability Clearance
  • Satisfy a probation period
  • Undergo a health assessment (if applicable).
