Strategy & Capability | ABF Workforce | ABF College | Marine Maritime and Littoral Faculty
The Marine, Maritime & Littoral Faculty delivers an integrated curriculum of specialist vocational training to enable officers deployed in the maritime domain to undertake operational roles. The Faculty has three delivery streams, Marine, Maritime and Littoral Vessel, each headed up by a Chief Instructor.

The Marine, Maritime & Littoral Faculty is looking for individuals who possess high level interpersonal communication skills and have a focus on training delivery.

Duties and responsibilities
An Instructor for Littoral Training is responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:

Highly effective delivery of the Littoral training curriculum

Contribute to the design, development and evaluation of Littoral Training

Deliver and facilitate training to a range of diverse groups, including delivery of physically demanding and specialised Littoral Training

Support complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals;

Work under limited direction within a small team with opportunity for autonomy and accountability in interpreting policy and the application of practices and procedures

Assist in managing learning administration tasks and reporting functions
-
Model and promote ethical, inclusive, respectful and equitable behaviour, in accordance with the APS Values and Code of Conduct.

Mandatory Qualifications
-
Meet the medical and fitness standards of the Australian Border Force, Basic Fitness Assessment (BFA)
-
Hold a current manual driver's licence
-
Hold a current Coxswains Grade 1 near Coastal Certificate of proficiency issued by AMSA or higher
-
Has the ability to obtain a Master less than 24m and a Marine Engine Driver Grade 2
-
Hold a current Provide First Aid and Provide Advanced Resuscitation qualifications or the ability to obtain the qualifications
-
Hold a Certificate IV in Training Assessment and Assessment (TAE40122) or the ability to obtain the qualification
-
Ability to undertake interstate travel and work extended hours to support and/or deliver training.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
