Duties and responsibilities

 

Manage and co-ordinate day-to-day facilities activities including, but not limited to:

  • Maintaining spaces, structures, and infrastructure in operating condition in a routine, scheduled, or predictable fashion to prevent failure and/or degradation.
  • Escalation and management of Cushman & Wakefield work orders.
  • Ensuring building facilities comply with government regulations and environmental, health and security standards.
  • Oversee annual compliance program.
  • Monitoring and reporting issues and deficiencies on the WoAG Property Services Contract.
  • Minor asset replacement and asset management oversight.
  • Assist with the management of regional property space including allocation of space, block, and stack exercises, decommissioning of sites, and updating spatial accommodation data bases.
  • Support the delivery of national or local projects, under direction of National Office team and regional supervisor.
  • Present information in a clear and effective manner through oral and written communication.
  • Provide expert advice and interpretation within technical or professional areas, including preparing relevant strategic advice where appropriate.
  • Staff supervision and performance management.
  • Escort uncleared contractors as required.

Other role responsibilities/preferred characteristics include:

  • Previous experience or qualifications in Facilities/Asset Management, property services, or a relevant Trades background is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to and work from alternate sites.
  • Ability to learn and use relevant computer software.
  • Make decisions using good judgement, expertise, and knowledge, under limited guidance - ensure decisions are governed by the application of regulations, best practice principles or the agency's operating instructions and procedures.
  • Perform research and analysis to make decisions that involve complex or escalated issues, longer-term planning, and liaison with other sections on policy, project, or operational issues.
  • Maintain awareness of the longer-term strategic, political, or operational outcomes for the agency/program and impacts on the work area.
  • Provide expertise and technical knowledge in specialist areas across a range of programs or activities for the agency.
  • Ensure knowledge of and compliance with legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes and agency guidelines and regulations.
  • Contribute to managing change and uncertainty in the workplace.
  • Propose and facilitate innovation initiatives and contribute to business improvement strategies and to change in workplace practices.

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.

 
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
