Our Branch manages the planning, procurement, leasing and management of office and residential accommodation in Australia and overseas. This includes (but is not limited to) capital works, staff accommodation, airport and seaport leasing, operational properties, facilities management, spatial management, and contract management arrangements.

Duties and responsibilities

 

The Department is looking for dynamic individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, challenging environment, and have the ability to manage multiple activities.

 

  • Assist with the management of regional property space including allocation of space, block and stack exercises and updating Serraview.
  • Manage and co-ordinate day-to-day facilities activities including, but not limited to:

* Asset Management

* Official car park management, including ballots where appropriate and visitor car parking

* Work order management including logging, review and escalation of unresolved work orders

* Scheduling of contractor attendances and contractor oversight

* Undertake quality control and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance.

* Work order management including logging, review and escalation of unresolved work orders

* Develop and maintain strong and cooperative working relationships with contractors, business areas, and stakeholders.

* Site cleaning inspections and audits

  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Ensuring building facilities comply with government regulations and environmental, health and security standards
  • Overseeing and reporting issues in relation to contracts for services including: cleaning, handymen services, secure waste, and parking
  • Support the delivery of National or local projects, under direction of National Office team and regional supervisor.

 

Additional information

 

  • Due to the dynamic and challenging nature of the work, personal resilience, flexibility and adaptability, whilst assessing and managing any potential risks are key requirements for all officers.
  • Certificate IV in Contract Management and Procurement would be well regarded as would any qualifications in Property Management or Trades.
  • Ability to travel at times
  • Present information in a clear and effective manner through oral and written communication
  • Ability to learn and use relevant computer software

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
     

In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
