Chief Operating Officer | Integrity Security & Assurance | Security Branch | Security Intelligence & Coordination

 

Security Branch sits within Integrity, Security and Assurance (ISA) Division. The Branch is responsible for developing, implementing and administering security policies and procedures that promote a secure and safe work environment for Departmental workers while providing adequate protection for the Department's information and assets.
The Security Coordination Centre (SCC) is the front door for Security Branch, responsible for central coordination of information and activities, including security incident management and reporting, physical access provisioning, first level resolution of security enquiries, and governance and secretariat support.

Our ideal candidate

 

  • Familiarity with electronic access control systems and security alarm systems
  • Familiarity with the departments Physical Access Control Policy and associated security policies
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow based Request Management systems, or similar
  • Certificate in Government Security (Desirable)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Facilitate access to Department sites using the Department's various Electronic Access Control Systems (EACS)
  • Provide high level customer service to internal and external stakeholders through web, email and telephone channels
  • Understand, respond and resolve basic staff requests and enquiries relating to security services and issues
  • Support Senior SCC officers in the resolution of complex requests as well as security events and incidents impacting the Department's people, information or assets
  • Maintain a sound understanding of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Department security policies, governance and practices.

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
     

In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
