ICT at Department of Home Affairs:
Our ICT systems touch every area in the Department and the ABF, and our three ICT Divisions are responsible for running and sustaining hundreds of different ICT systems. Our ICT Divisions offer a wide range of roles and ICT vocations, where you will get hands on experience and training with some of the most unique technologies such as biometrics, cyber security and SmartGates at our airports.
Overview of the ABF:
The ABF is Australia's frontline border security agency and customs service and sits within the Department of Home Affairs. The ABF's mission is to protect Australia's border and enable legitimate travel and trade. The ABF works across regional and international airports and seaports, inspects mail items, seizes prohibited drug imports and patrols over 2.3 million square nautical miles of coastline.

Duties and responsibilities
Apollo is offering several roles in ICT and the ABF:
ICT:
- Cyber Security
- Junior Testers
- Junior Software/Application/Integration Developers
- Junior Systems Analyst and Administrator
- ICT Support Officer.
ABF
Administrative Support for:
- ABF operational and management priorities
- ICT asset management for ABF Maritime Capability
- Data Entry
- Assisting with finances, record keeping and reporting.
Additional information
Most roles are Canberra based. Some roles may be available in Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney. The Contact Person can provide further information if you are interested in an interstate role.
Some candidates may be required to obtain a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance.

Evidence of disability

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
