Strategy & Capability | ABF Workforce | Workforce Op Policy & Practices | Enforcement & Immigration Compliance Management

 

The Workforce Operational Policy and Practices Branch, within ABF Workforce, Safety and Assurance Command delivers functional management, policy and procedural advice to the Australian Border Force (ABF) within the enforcement, compliance, traveller and goods domains by ensuring the knowledge, skills, abilities and core competencies of its workforce are monitored, developed and coordinated at an enterprise level. The Branch provides exposure to a wide range of operational activities, functions, and complex, rewarding work. You will be supported through on the job training and relevant professional development courses to excel and positively influence the outcomes, performance and future of the ABF.

Within the Branch, the Enforcement and Immigration Compliance Management (EICM) section leverages close working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions and inputs to enforcement and compliance workforce practices that enables lawful, efficient and effective operations aligned with ABF priorities.

Duties and responsibilities

 

The core duties of the role includes:

  • Providing high-level support to the operational frontline officers in the regions, Workforce Safety and Assurance, ABF and Home Affairs on issues of strategic, operational and program importance.• Preparing complex correspondence to stakeholders, including responses to external scrutiny bodies, media enquiries, and senior executives
  • Responding to complex queries on behalf of the section, consulting with stakeholders and the regions as appropriate, and/or coordinating responses on sensitive matters
  • Working closely with regional stakeholders to ensure nationally consistent processes, identification and engagement on workforce or procedural gaps, their potential solutions and drive change
  • Contributing to relevant compliance assurance activities, internal and external audit processes and risk management
  • Working closely with Enforcement & Immigration Compliance Operational Policy to contribute to operational directives, supporting policies and procedures.

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

​The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.

 
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
