About our team

 

Chief Operating Officer Group | ICT Division | Digital Delivery | Technical Web Services

 

The Digital Delivery Branch (DDB) is responsible for the oversight and governance of ICT programs that enable digital transformation within the department. The branch stewards and supports the Government's digital agenda, including enabling Digital Service Standards and supports the division to realise the ICT strategic agenda. The DDB is the central engagement point for the Permissions Capability Program Technology Sub-program. Services within the branch also include development of mobile applications and support for the department's online channels.

 

The Technical Web Services (TWS) Section provides development, enhancement and production support to all Department of Home Affairs online channels including internet, intranet, extranet, portals/apps and collaboration sites. The section includes a user engagement and delivery function, development and testing in Microsoft technologies (SharePoint, .NET and Dynamics Customer Relationship Management (CRM)), web administration, production and incident support as well as project support for web related projects. TWS provides technical system support to AusCheck and Resolve Enterprise.

Our ideal candidate

 

You will be responsible for supporting the Business As Usual (BAU) team with maintenance and support of SharePoint team sites and other applications that the section manages and supports. The BAU Support Officer is responsible for a wide range of activities, including creating and decommissioning both Protected and Official: Sensitive team sites and handling Information Technology (IT) support tickets and tasks. The BAU Support Officer is also responsible for SharePoint training, preparing training materials and conducting training sessions.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

Provide high level specialist technical expertise on some/all of the following:

 

  • Adding users, controlling access to document libraries, and setting permissions
  • Troubleshooting and resolving SharePoint issues or malfunctions
  • Providing SharePoint support and end-user training
  • Reviewing usage and activity reports and making adjustments to ensure optimised user-experiences
  • Supervise change management requests for deployment activities and monitor incident management queues through Connected Services
  • Active Directory groups and users for provisioning - creating and assigning permissions based off Active Directory roles
  • Formulate training materials for SharePoint Online clients, PowerApps, and Teams
  • Conduct one-on-one and group training sessions for SharePoint Online clients, PowerApps, and Teams
  • Prepare Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and other supporting materials for users
  • Develop and build training videos
  • Participate in developing IT solutions and strategies with other members of the IT team
  • Effective working relationship with IT Service Desk and other members within the IT team - will be held jointly accountable for the IT organisation's service level agreements for 2nd and 3rd level support
  • Development of standard documentation for operational procedures
  • Ensure the procedures are followed when working on user support problems including use of the Servicenow system for problem ticket management
  • Support business users and IT counterparts on application/database troubleshooting, development/maintenance of business user applications and specialised data extract/report requirements as needed

  • Well-developed understanding in SharePoint 2016/SharePoint Online, including experience with administration
  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
     

In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
