About our team
Chief Operating Officer Group | Enterprise Technology Services | ICT Service Management | ITSM Operations
The IT Service Management Branch is responsible for the overall user experience of the Department's ICT services.
The Department has approximately 20,000 desktop users, and our Branch manages a range of ICT Services and processes which allow the Department to meet it's strategic and operational goals.
The Branch manages major service internal system disruptions. We manage the systems and processes that provide users with ICT assets and system access. We manage ICT change management and the delivery of integrated scheduled ICT software releases. We also provide ICT support to VIP and Ministerial users in the Department.
The VIP and Ministerial team in the IT Service Management Branch is a Canberra-based Service Delivery area, delivering end user software and hardware, as well coordinating ICT services across the Department of Home Affairs and partner agencies to support our Portfolio's key executive staff. Staff in the VIP and Ministerial team are required to travel to locations across Canberra and occasionally interstate, and participate in an on-call roster.

Our ideal candidate
We're looking for team players who have excellent communication and customer service skills.
You will have experience in an ICT support environment, responding to and resolving ICT enquiries and requests from a range of stakeholders. You will be able to work independently, delivering high quality advice and client services in ICT matters
You will be able to manage your work to adapt to changing priorities, while managing expectations and meeting the needs of stakeholders.
You will have a current driver's licence, access to transport and the ability to participate in an on-call roster and be able to work outside of standard working hours when required.
Duties and responsibilities
- On a daily basis you will interact with stakeholders at all levels, including senior staff from across the Portfolio, including the Ministers office.
- You will troubleshoot hardware and software issues and install and maintain ICT hardware and peripherals for our VIP clients. You will provide face-to-face user support and training
- You will participate in planning, scheduling and coordinating service delivery activities
- You will be an active participant in the development of a high-quality customer focussed team

- Current Drivers Licence and access to transport. Ability to work out of hours and participate in an on-call roster

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
