Chief Operating Officer Group | Enterprise Technology Services | Technology Operations & Support | Infrastructure Solutions
Infrastructure Solutions Section provides technical support and guidance on fundamental hardware, software and networking components for all projects and new technical solutions that require on-perm Technology Operations & Support Branch (TOSB) infrastructure. Our team collaborates with Architecture, Cyber and requesting business specialists to help determine solution to their unique business requirements.
We support the wider Branch by providing guidance on technical governance and assurance, strategic technical services and solution design. We also undertake internal and external stakeholder and vendor partnership and engagement.

Our ideal candidate
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft suite.
- Has knowledge or understanding of VMWare or Linux or WINDOWS/UNIX Servers or Network and Gateway or HyperConverged Infrastructure Environments or Active Directory
- In possession or close to completing tertiary qualification in an IT field.
- Is able to plan work, and allocate time, according to known and emerging priorities, whilst adapting a flexible approach to changing business priorities and escalating issues as required.
- Demonstrates commitment and drive to achieve the objectives of the work area, remaining resilient in a complex environment.
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments of incoming requests.
- Triage incoming work and correspondence to appropriate team members.
- Provide input into infrastructure strategy and capital planning project processes.
- Identify and escalate Infrastructure operational problems and contribute to their resolution.
- Contribute to the creation and upkeep of quality assurance and governance documentation including records management.
Additional information
- Presents information in a clear, timely and effective manner through oral and written communication.
- Has experience undertaking complex research and data analysis and is able to translate and present technical and complex information appropriately with assistance and support from senior staff.
- Approaches problem solving by simultaneously creating and evaluating options.
- Role requires contribution to creation and upkeep of internal guides and processes.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
