The Classified Systems Delivery Section (CSD) is responsible for the delivery and support of Secret Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for use by the Department of Home Affairs and a range of external stakeholders. These include Australian Government Departments, New Zealand Government Departments, and other Commonwealth and state agencies.
CSD is a multidisciplinary team comprised of resources across ICT disciplines including server, network, compute, storage, cryptographic, deployable, and desktop solutions. The team provides the Australian Secret Network and Customs Secret Network Service Desks, platform, network and end user services as well as support for the Department's COMSEC requirements.
CSD supports a range of critical government capabilities, including counter terrorism policy, coordination and response, Australian Border Force maritime platforms, and national crisis response including the continuation of Executive Government during a national emergency or disaster.

Duties and responsibilities
- Install and maintain ICT infrastructure and implement changes in a range of ICT facilities and aboard ABF vessels.
- Support fixed and mobile ICT systems and services for a range of end users in the Department of Home Affairs. Australian Border Force and across a range of other government departments and agencies.
- Manage and handle High Assurance Cryptographic Equipment (HACE) in order to maintain communications security (COMSEC) of networks and fixed, deployable and/or mobile end user devices.
- Monitor and control secure network and gateway infrastructure, fixed, deployable and/or mobile end user, voice and video communications systems and services.
- Manage ICT incidents, changes and problems, assets and configuration items, and support knowledge management and continuous services improvement of ITSM practices and processes.
Additional information
- Demonstrated experience working in an ICT network infrastructure team, supporting the resolution of complex technical incidents, and implementing complex technical changes.
- Extensive knowledge and experience managing ICT network environment comprising, but not limited to, supporting network topologies with different vendor technologies such as:
- Static/dynamic routing
- Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Networks
- Internet Protocol Security
- Load Balancers
- Hot Standby Router Protocol
- Spanning Tree Protocol
- Wide Area Network optimisation
- Quality of Service configuration.
- Proven experience with network infrastructure in large organisations or a similar to Government ICT environment.
- Good communications and excellent collaboration skills.
- Recent experience working in secure ICT environments.
- Experience handling and managing High Assurance Cryptographic Equipment (HACE).
- Significant understanding of Australian Government security policy including the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Information Security Manual (ISM) and Australian Communications Security Instructions (ACSI).
- Cisco certification(s).
- ITILv4.
- ITSM experience.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including heavy lifting in compliance with WHS policies.
- Ability to travel domestically, sometimes at short notice.
- Ability to participate in a 24x7 on-call roster and be recalled to support service operations.
- Current Australian driver's license.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
