The Cyber Delivery Management Office within the Cyber Engagement and Delivery (CED) Section is responsible for providing Program and Project Management services to uplift cyber capabilities for the Department. 


The CED Section also provides cyber security strategy, communication, education and training products and services to facilitate organisational and behavioural change to enable a cyber-secure environment through: 

 

  • Tailored and repeatable cyber security awareness communication products to increase organisational understanding of cyber threats and vulnerabilities
  • Design and delivery of bespoke cyber security education and training packages
  • Providing advice and guidance on the development of strategic communication on cyber security
  • Development of strategic plans to enhance and enable cyber security resilience across the department.

Our ideal candidate

 

  • Demonstrated experience developing staff and managing large teams in a large, complex and changing ICT or cyber security environment, including defining and delivering outcomes
  • At least 5 years' experience with medium to large government organisations or similarly sized private sector organisations
  • Strong financial skills, demonstrated experience in managing project budgets
  • Demonstrated experience in managing resource allocation across a project of work to ensure technical, financial and quality outcomes are achieved
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in managing complex technology or cyber security projects.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Establish suitable governance structures for a project including conducting complex transition planning, disposal or closure of projects, systems, facilities, equipment or platforms
  • Lead and apply effective risk management in accordance with the appropriate risk management plan and the department's risk management framework
  • Monitor, review and continually improve risk management within the team to encourage innovation and best practice
  • Manage, resolve and provide advice regarding issues that impact delivery of a project, using correct methods and escalating when required
  • Manage and review the development of stakeholder engagement plan and manage expectations
  • Provide relevant stakeholders project cost estimates based on departmental financial framework and track throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Additional information

 

Preferred Requirements:

 

  • Experience in managing cyber security functions are highly desirable
  • Formal qualifications, or relevant experience in ICT, Cyber Security, Business Administration or Project Management are highly desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in organisational change and communications frameworks are desirable.

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
     

In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
