The Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) Management and Communications Security Intelligence Officer (COMSO) team is fundamental in ensuring The Department of Home Affairs mitigates the risk of non-compliance in the management of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) within the department's SCIFs. The team facilitates and manages the department's compartments, facilitates access of highly sensitive partner data to all clients within the department and ensures the ongoing smooth operation of departmental SCIFs including ensuring full compliance as required by Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM).

Duties and responsibilities
- Maintain a working knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Information Security Manual (ISM), and other relevant legislative requirements, industry standards and better practice models
- Use their knowledge of whole of Government security protocols, review, draft and implement operating procedures and procedural instructions aimed at ensuring compliance with security requirements
- Work with multiple stakeholders to workshop and plan new SCIF design requirements
- Support the COMSO team in the preparation and delivery of high quality security awareness sessions to small and large SCIF groups
- Liaise with ASD and other stakeholders to facilitate and maintain the accreditation of the department's SCIFs and providing support to ensure their ongoing operation
- Participate in a roster to provide after-hours SCIF on-call support

Mandatory
- Positive Vetting security clearance, or the ability to obtain this clearance
- COMSO Qualification or willingness to obtain.
Desirable
- Previous COMSO/SCIF experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Positive Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
