Strategy & Capability | Workforce Safety & Assurance | ABF College | College Coordination Unit

 

The College Coordination Unit (CCU) is responsible for a range of support functions within the ABF College. They provide a central point of contact and coordination for ABF College requests and coordination activities. CCU provides strategic support and assistance to the ABF College Commander and Superintendents by providing a national view of business support activities and issues through central coordination and consolidation of input from College faculties nationally.

 

The Coordination Unit has four streams - Business Triage and Coordination, Strategic Communication and Governance, Data and Analytics and Leadership and International.

 

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated APS 6 officer to join the College Coordination Unit. The position provides a unique and challenging opportunity you for to enhance your corporate, administration and support skills whilst gaining a holistic view of the ABF College.

 

The successful candidate will be assisting the Business Triage and Coordination team but will also have the opportunity to provide support to the Leadership and International team, therefore experienced leaders with a training background to assist in the development and delivery of the ABF Leadership foundations program are also encouraged to apply.

Duties and responsibilities

 

Your daily tasks will include;

  • Support complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing a conduit between the ABF College and business areas
  • Support the ABF College through management of simple and complex procurement processes, working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
  • Provide direct support to the broader College Coordination Unit, Superintendents and Commander when required.
  • Set responsibilities and day-to-day work priorities for a team
  • Investigate, research and analyse information pertaining to the ABF College
  • Support the ABF College in the development of high-quality submissions, correspondence, briefing papers and reports
  • Facilitate, develop and deliver leadership training across the ABF.

 

Additional information

 

  • Demonstrated ability in supporting staff to adapt and respond to new challenges in a changing environment
  • Certificate IV TAE or the willingness to work towards
  • Understanding of the Customs Act 1901 and Migration Act 1958 
  • Previous experience in training delivery for frontline operational roles
  • Experience in working in a support function to operational teams
  • Experience working in an operational role in a customs, immigration border or law enforcement agency
  • Experience with Departmental IT systems (HPE Records Manager, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint)

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.

 

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
 

  • ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
     

In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
